The Tangles

According to an 1981 Australian Women’s Weekly profile of fast bowler Dennis Lillee, a moustache was a ‘compulsory’ accessory for sportsmen.

Unlike the standard, rectangular, panel of bristles gracing numerous other 70s sporting identities, the mo named after Lillee’s team-mate Max ’Tangles’ Walker is a furry facial adornment in the shape of a big, upside-down U.
