This self-portrait embodies the evolution of my ceramic practice into digital media and was filmed during an artist residency in Finland. After a traumatic experience leading to depression, I found myself in the cold, dark Finnish winter undertaking four separate walks to nearby villages. I broke a ceramic object at ten-minute intervals to explore the silence of the landscape in contrast to the stark sound of breakage. The silence enhanced my isolation as I endured the varying weather conditions and orchestrated the shattering of the ceramic objects.
