Dad at 93 years old, 2006

by Gary Heery

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2007 Finalist

It's the oddest thing, asking your ninety-five-year-old father to take off his clothes. But he did it without complaint until he got down to his boxer shorts. Then he stopped and looked at me. 'Yes Dad . . . everything.' 'Okay, okay. What did you say this was for?' 'Posterity, Dad.' 'Okay, but don't show this to any of the women at the nursing home. They might get excited.'
