Trumble Tour

Introduction, video: 48 seconds

My name is Angus Trumble, and I'm director of the National Portrait Gallery. Welcome to this tour. The idea of a National Portrait Gallery has been with us for many years, since before the first World War. It took 7, 8 decades to become a reality. Thanks to, above all, the efforts of our founding patrons, Gordon and Marilyn Darling. There are an infinite number of ways in which one can make this journey; follow any number of strands that connect the earliest works in the collection with the most recent.

Join me, for this tour of the National Portrait Gallery Collection.
