William Dickinson (1746-1823) was a London-born draughtsman, engraver and print publisher. His engraving of the portrait of Joseph Banks was the first of 22 mezzotints made after Sir Joshua Reynolds, many of which appeared during the 1770s. Dickinson spent the latter part of his life in Paris.
