Robert Grieve (1924-2006), painter and printmaker, exhibited in Melbourne in 1948 before leaving for Europe and England, where he studied lithography at the Regent Polytechnic. After a spell of teaching in the late 1950s he made repeated visits to Japan, where he participated in several exhibitions. He also spent time studying in the USSR, China, Cuba and Taiwan. David Ellis's Robert Grieve: Paintings, Drawings and Collage was published in 1995.
