Pat Fiske OAM is recognised as a prominent member of Australia's independent filmmaking community. An experienced director, producer and sound recordist, Fiske was awarded the Stanley Hawes Award for her outstanding contribution to the documentary film industry in 2001 and in the same year won a Walkley Award for Business Behind Bars, her two-part series examining the operation of private prisons in Australia and the United States. Fiske has directed and/or produced numerous awardwinning films including Doc, a portrait of Herbert Vere Evatt, Rocking the Foundations, a history of the NSW Builders Labourers Union and For All the World to See, her 1992 portrait of Professor Fred Hollows. Her recent production River of No Return, written and directed by Darlene Johnson, was selected for screening at the 2008 Sydney Film Festival.
