Jane Barnes (b. 1958), musician, was born in Bangkok. After her parents' divorce, she spent her childhood travelling around the world with her diplomat stepfather, mother and two sisters, living in Australia, Italy, Russia, New Guinea, Kiribati, Malta and Malaysia. She met Jimmy Barnes during her last year at the Australian National University in Canberra in 1979. They married two years later and have been together ever since. During the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown period, the singer and guitarist established her own group, the Jane Barnes Band. Performing with her husband, family members and friends in regular live performances on social media, they received more than 100 million views.
