Irish-born James Horan (b. 1976) is an editorial and advertising photographer whose many clients include banks, hotel chains, medical supply companies, museums and charities such as The Salvos and The Smith Family. Educated at the Limerick School of Art and Design, Horan first came to Australia in 2007 and worked for News Ltd, settling permanently in Sydney in 2012. He has a strong interest in photojournalism and travel photography; his series of photographs documenting Irish gypsies and their horses featured in the 2014 Head On photography festival. The Press Photographers Association of Ireland named him News Photographer of the Year in 2011 and Sports Photographer of the Year in 2007. His photograph of Tracey Moffatt was a finalist in the 2018 National Photographic Portrait Prize.
