Georges Antoni (b. 1975), fashion photographer, grew up in a small town in central Queensland. While studying law and commerce at university he worked in retail for Country Road and Guess; after graduation moved into marketing for Coca Cola, then worked as a strategic consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Having founded a chain of health food shops that failed, he was down to his last dollars when he approached a modelling agency claiming to be a photographer. Since then, he has worked continuously in the fashion business, for magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia and Oyster, and fashion houses including Versace and Hugo Boss. His high-profile sitters include Rihanna, Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Hawkins and Dita Von Teese, and he was a judge for a season of the television series Australia’s Top Model (finding the process destructive for the young contenders, he elected not to return to the show). He lists his career highlights as the epic fashion shoot on the 75th anniversary of the Sydney Harbour Bridge for Harper’s Bazaar, and a shoot for the 50th anniversary of Australian Vogue.
