Col Levy (b. 1933), ceramic artist, originally trained as a manual arts teacher, and had the opportunity to study pottery at the National Art School in Sydney in 1956. In 1958 he was apprenticed to Ivan McMeekin at the Sturt pottery workshop in Mittagong. In the mid 1960s Levy set up a kiln and studio at Bowen Mountain in Sydney's Blue Mountains. Levy's ceramic work, strongly influenced by Japanese tea ceremony wares, is held by major museum collections across Australia.
