Betina Fauvel-Ogden was born in Adelaide and lives in Melbourne. Completing a Diploma of Art at RMIT in 1964, Fauvel-Ogden has worked in fashion illustration, advertising and as a children's book illustrator in Australia and overseas. Working across the mediums of oil, watercolour and mixed media, Fauvel-Ogden has exhibited widely, including the Shirley Hannan Portrait Prize, the Archibald Prize and the Darling Portrait Prize. In 2016 the artist won the Packing Room Prize at the Archibald for her finalist portrait of George Calombaris; she has also won the Alice Bale Art Prize (2006), and the NSW Premier's Literary Award for children's book illustration (1987).
