Friends' Farewell, 2006

by Leslie Arnott

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2007 Finalist

It was a cold Sunday morning in August last year when a group of us, family and friends, got together at the Elwood Beach House Playground where the old bowling green used to be. With our busy lives and juggling work and family life these meetings have become less frequent, so it was a great opportunity to get a shot of all our kids. The age range between the five families is two to thirteen years. We had a great time and said our goodbyes to our friends who were relocating from Melbourne to Adelaide for work. Times like this become very special and treasured memories that span generations. I myself have these memories of my childhood, precious images and moments, especially as time goes by.
