Eye of the Enduring by Charlotte (12-15 years, SA)

Painting, Acrylic paints, charcoal, pencil.
Eye of the Enduring
This close-up portrait of my Pop captures more than his face — it holds a lifetime of resilience. Surviving two heart attacks, a stroke, and moments when his heart literally stopped, he remains unshaken. The deep blues and purples echo hardship, while golden tones reflect strength and warmth. Charcoal defines age and endurance; acrylics and pencil highlights bring life to the eye — always watching, always present. Pop and Nan took me in when I had nowhere else, becoming my anchor. This piece honors their love, his survival, and the quiet power of enduring.
