Ricki, 2016

by Chris Budgeon

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2017 Finalist

This image was selected from the series of figure studies titled ‘Ancient of Days’. The project seeks out connections with early 19th century Australian artists like Hugh Ramsay and Aileen Dent. Ricki personifies the lean, fit labourertype of life models that were often preferred by artists of those times when painting figure studies.
