I recently saw a film about the Beijing Opera in my Chinese background class. This deeply impressed me. I decided to do my drawing in pastel because I had not seen this material used in China before. I thought it would be special to use a Western material to draw an aspect of Asian culture. I like to draw in detail, so I am pleased with my realistic drawing.
