National Photographic Portrait Prize 2021

Living Memory

Daily from Saturday 31 July 2021 until Sunday 7 November 2021

To mark how extraordinary this year has been, we're inviting photographers to consider the concept of Living Memory with a special focus on 2020. This doesn't mean that you can't enter something that you don't think fits with this theme, 'cause if it was taken during this period, then it's still of this period.

Along with the Living Memory theme, the exhibition will also be larger, so we can include more photographers AND will go for a longer period, to celebrate artists in this tricky time AND we'll be paying all finalists, to help with framing or freight costs (or new shoes or equipment or whatever!) AND in addition to the four usual prizes, we'll be offering a professional development opportunity to an emerging photographer!

Call for entries: 1 December 2020 – 2 March 2021

Winner announced: 30 July 2021

Exhibition opens 31 July and closes 7 November 2021.
