The Digital Portraiture Award was established in 2012 to support the growth of digital portraiture, a distinct genre of digital art. In its sixth year, nine finalists were selected for exhibition from a large pool of entries.

The winner of the 2017 Award is Selfie Factory by Ralph Kenke and Elmar Trefz.

They received $10,000 and a professional development residency at The Edge, State Library of Queensland.
