Due to the disruption brought about by COVID-19, we are still finalising details for the second Darling Portrait Prize. We acknowledge what a hard year it has been for Australian artists and we are committed to working with them in the future. The Darling Portrait Prize is a new national prize for Australian portrait painting honouring the legacy of Mr L Gordon Darling AC CMG (1921-2015), who was instrumental in establishing the National Portrait Gallery of Australia. Anthea da Silva won the $75,000 Darling Portrait Prize with her painting Elizabeth depicting the high priestess of Australian contemporary dance, Dr Elizabeth Cameron-Dalman OAM.
