Rush in, slow down and take a looong look at a few portraits, then meet to share your thoughts and observations.

WHAT IS SLOW ART DAY

Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: to help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art. When people look at art slowly, they return to the moment, see more and make their own discoveries. Check out the Slow Art Day website for more information.

ON THE DAY

Meet our NPG Facilitator in the Gordon Darling Hall near the Information desk. Here you’ll be given a copy of the selected portraits and a Gallery map.

You then head off on your own, choosing the order you want to see the artworks in, and how long you want to look for, but remember to slow down enough to spend 5 – 10 minutes with each one!

At 2.45pm we’ll meet in the Education Studio to share what you saw from slowing down, and discuss the experience.
