Join the inaugural winner of Portrait Artist of the Year for a painting workshop at the National Portrait Gallery.

The workshop will begin with a short talk by the artist in front of their portrait commission. Hear from the artist as they share insights into their creative journey and what it was like to paint the sitter.

Following the talk, the artist will share their favourite techniques for painting a portrait, including how to get started and how to paint different facial features.

Just beginning your painting journey? We recommend joining the Friday workshop. Already have some skills? Refine your technique at the workshop on Saturday.

All materials provided.

Light catering will be available throughout the workshop. Please advise of any dietaries when booking your ticket.
