Pebble Portraits

Daily from Friday 2 April until Sunday 11 July 2021
10:00am – 5:00pm

To celebrate our Australian Love Stories exhibition, we’re making tokens of affection! Make pebble portraits of the special people in your life or even somewhere you treasure. It could be your bestie, a family member, a particular place, or even a furry, four-legged friend!

Get creative at home and make your own pebble portrait.

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Find a pebble that fits in the palm of your hand – no larger than 15cm.
  • Dream up a design for your pebble – it could be a portrait of someone you love or something special.
  • Choose some materials – maybe some paint, textas or collage materials.
  • Make sure it’s waterproof – PVA or varnish will help protect your treasure from the rain!

Help us make a rock garden!

Bring your pebble portrait in to the Gallery and pop it in the rock garden in our western forecourt!

Your community rocks!

Pop your pebble portrait somewhere in your neighbourhood and take a photo!

I wonder where they’ll end up? If you find one, let us know where!

Tag us (@PortraitAU) with your creation or places you have found pebble portraits and follow uson Instagram and Facebook.
