Our Research Library is available by appointment to visiting professionals and bona fide scholars i.e. those writing relevant Honours, Masters or PhD theses.
We can accommodate your visit between 10:00am and 4:00pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Simply book your appointment by emailing library@npg.gov.au
We also honour the ‘Library of last resort’ principle, which lets all researchers – under supervision via an appointment – look at an item not available elsewhere.
External borrowing is possible through the Inter-Library Loans system. This means that you can look at the item at a participating library but not take it home. Ask your library if they offer this service.
