Ossie Cruse AM MBE, Aboriginal Elder and Christian Pastor, has for over 20 years been a prominent campaigner for reconciliation and social justice for Australia's indigenous peoples. A member of the Monaro people of NSW's South Coast, he served for 13 years on NSW's Aboriginal Advisory Council during the 1970s and 80s, and was Chairman of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council from 1998 to 1999. At the international level he has served on delegations to the Commonwealth Heads of Government and the United Nations. Ossie Cruse's brand of activism combines political involvement with Christian evangelicism - he is co-founder of the Aboriginal Evangelical Fellowship, with which he continues to serve as a Pastor.
