On a warm spring day in 1967, seventeen year-old Peter McEwan was arrested by undercover police officers on Melbourne’s Brighton Beach for being with another man. What followed was simply appalling.

Join us for a conversation with NPPP 2020 finalist Sanjeev Singh and his subject Peter McEwan as we discuss the shameful history and ultimate triumph behind this striking portrait.

Presented as part of the Canberra’s annual SpringOUT Pride Festival (31 October-29 November 2020) which celebrates Australia’s most LGBTIQ-friendly city and its LGBTIQ community in all its fabulous diversity.
