Welcome to the National Portrait Gallery's collection search.  The National Portrait Gallery's collection contains portraits depicted in a wide variety of media; paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and photographs.  Our rapidly growing collection of artworks depicting significant Australian subjects are collected and displayed in order to increase the understanding of the Australian people – their identity, history, creativity and culture – through portraiture.
