Employment Opportunities at the National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery celebrates Australia’s history, identity, creativity and culture through portraiture. The Gallery has assembled an impressive collection of portraits of individuals who have made a significant impact on Australia, and will continue to build this collection through gifts, acquisitions and commissions.

As well as presenting major exhibitions and education and outreach programs, the National Portrait Gallery facilitates discussion, research and interpretation of portraiture in Australia. Located at Old Parliament House, Canberra and together with Old Parliament House, The National Portrait Gallery is a division of the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.

The National Portrait Gallery has commenced an exciting phase with the construction of its own building located in the Parliamentary Zone in Canberra. The new building is expected to be operational in late 2008.

There are currently no advertised positions.  Positions will be advertised online and through the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts at www.environment.gov.au
