Visit InformationAccessThe National Portrait Gallery is located on King Edward Terrace, Parkes, in the Parliamentary Precinct. The public carpark can be accessed via Parkes Place. Parking spaces for people with mobility difficulties are provided in the underground carpark close to the public access lifts. Parking is free; please validate your parking voucher at the Cloakroom at the end of your visit. ACTION bus routes 2, 3, and 934 run from the various city centres past the National Portrait Gallery on a regular basis. For the latest bus timetable information please visit the ACTION buses website. Large bags and backpacks cannot be taken into the Galleries but the Cloakroom is available for their storage during your visit. Due to copyright restrictions no cameras or mobile phones are to be used in the galleries. The Gallery is open every day from 10am - 5:00pm except Christmas Day 25 December ServicesThe Portrait Cafe (02) 6102 7160 and Portrait Store (02) 6102 7170 are located at the north end of the building to the right of the main entrance and are open daily from 9am - 5.00pm.
