Actors Tony Llewellyn-Jones and Karen Vickery, Manager Access and Learning, National Portrait Gallery bring to life moments in the diverse lives of subjects in the Collection reading excerpts from diary entries, travel journals, speeches, poetry, novels and song lyrics. 2.00 - 3.00pm More information > Tony Llewellyn-Jones is a graduate of NIDA and the ANU. Since 1971 he has appeared in over 50 stage productions for Bell Shakespeare, the Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies and Griffin, Belvoir and Marian Street Theatres in Sydney. He has appeared for ABCTV, most notably in G.P., The Prime Minister is Missing and I,Spry. He is heard regularly in Arts Productions for ABC Radio National. He has also directed for Canberra Repertory and produced films with Paul Cox and Virginia Rouse. He was most recently seen in Canberra in YES, PRIME MINISTER and the Bell HENRY 4. This is his first appearance at the National Portrait Gallery. Karen Vickery comes to the National Portrait Gallery after a long career in theatre, film, television, visual arts and tertiary arts education. A graduate of NIDA in acting, Karen worked on stage, screen and radio for over 20 years. With a BA (honours) from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor of Dramatic Art in Acting from NIDA, Karen went on to complete a Master of Arts at the University of New South Wales and is currently undertaking a PhD part time at the Australian National University.
Karen is Manager of Access and Learning at the National Portrait Gallery, a role in which her extensive experience in arts education, the management of front of house, and delivery of high quality education and entertaining programs is well utilised. Karen began her role at NPG in December, 2011. |

- Parking spaces for people with mobility difficulties are provided in the underground car park close to the public access lifts
- Wheelchairs and strollers are available, bookings are recommended.
- Companion assistance animals are welcome at the Gallery
- Hearing loop provided in the Liangis theatre and Terrace rooms
- All the galleries, cafe and shop are on one level
Cancellation Policy
- An administration fee of $10 is applicable for cancelled bookings for all fee paying programs including workshops, master classes, seminars and talks, with the exception of thd "Play, explore, create together" family program.
- A refund will be issued for bookings cancelled seven (7) days prior to the program date.
- NPG reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient numbers and will notify you and refund full payment seven (7) days prior to the program. Should a program be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, NPG offers a full refund.
