The National Portrait Gallery summer show, Idle hours, is an exhibition of luxurious beauty. Paintings, prints and drawings represent subjects in quiet moods and situations arranged according to the time of day they depict - reading, drawing, snoozing, bathing, sewing, gardening, sitting, looking, making love and spending tranquil time with companions. OBEY: Shepard Fairey Posters

Shepard Fairey is best known for his iconic poster Obama/Hope which he made in support of Barack Obama for the 2008 US election. Fairey was already known for his independent politics and his striking street posters and sticker campaigns that took his images to the street. This exhibition explores creative process and identity. Seven architect teams known for their contemporary and highly distinctive work have created installations reflecting their creative philosophy. The architect teams each invited a photographer to create inventive portrait photographs within a modular format. The installations and portrait photographs have been commissioned for exhibition by the National Portrait Gallery.
