The Circle of Friends of the National Portrait Gallery plays an important role in the life and work of the Gallery. Members contribute to the acquisition of works of art, the mounting of visiting exhibitions, continual learning and the publication of new scholarship.

Friendspace
Friendspace offers an exciting new program designed for people aged between 18 and 30 who are interested in local arts and culture and looking to have greater involvement with the National Portrait Gallery. Friendspace aims to involve younger people with the Gallery’s collection and exhibitions and foster continuing learning about portraiture, its media, subjects and artists. The support of Friendspace members will also contribute to the acquisition of contemporary portraits.
