Visit information

Education programs are 90 minutes duration and free. All programs are available Monday to Friday, 10am - 5pm

 

Bookings are required a minimum of two weeks prior to your visit. Please click on the the bookings button to the right to download the booking form.  Once your booking has been made you will receive notice of confirmation. For further information on bookings and events please call 02 6102 7070 or fax 02 6102 7001 or email

 

Self-guided tours are welcome in the Gallery. The number of group visits per day is limited. It is recommended that you book a minimum 48 hours in advance

 

Groups are divided into 15 students per educator and adult supervision is required at all times. Student behaviour, safety and security are the responsibility of the visiting teacher.  Please click here to read important visit information for teachers.  A copy of the risk assessment for school visits can be downloaded here. The National Portrait Gallery Certificate of Currency is also available here for download.

 

On arrival check in with Gallery staff at the information desk and confirm numbers. Students are asked to please leave their bags on their bus

Cancellations must be received by fax or email at least 48 hours before the scheduled booking
