Australians in Hollywood : Biographical Notes

Aden Young
Aden Young (b. 1972) was born in Toronto , Canada , and grew up in Sydney , where he acted with the Australian Theatre for Young People. His film debut came with a leading role in Bruce Beresford's Black Robe (1991), shot on location in Young's native Canada. The film's international success brought Young offers from Hollywood : but after co-starring with Tom Berenger and Billy Zane in Sniper (1993), he returned to Australia to appear in a series of local films. He was in Metal Skin (1994), for which he won an AFI award; Exile (1994), Audacious (1995), Hotel de Love (1996) and Cosi (1996). In the late 90s Young returned to international movies with a role in Beresford's Paradise Road (1997), followed by leading parts in the Henry James inspired Under Heaven (1998) and the Balzac adaptation Cousin Bette (1998). In recent times he has appeared in The Crocodile Hunter (2002) and the Australian mini-series After the Deluge (2003).
