Guy Pearce
Guy Pearce (b. 1967), actor, was born in Cambridge , England ,
and arrived in Australia at the age of three. After a five-year stint in
Neighbours (1986-1990), and a yearlong tour as Danny in a production of
Grease , Pearce landed a principal role in The Adventures of Priscilla,
Queen of the Desert (1994). The film's international success brought him
to the attention of Hollywood , and led to his being cast with Russell
Crowe in L.A. Confidential (1997). As the driven Ed Exley, Pearce was a
revelation. His subsequent films have included the cannibalism romp Ravenous
(1999), Rules of Engagement (2000), the acclaimed Memento (2001), The Time
Machine (2002), in which he reprised the role originally played
by fellow Australian Rod Taylor, and The Count of Monte Cristo (2002).
He has also made Till Human Voices Wake Us (2002) and The Hard Word (2002)
in Australia.
