Jeanette Elphick
Jeanette Elphick (1935-1988), actress, studied modelling with June Dally-Watkins before making her Australian screen debut opposite Chips Rafferty in The Phantom Stockman (1953). Bob Hope spotted her while touring Australia and urged her to try her luck in Hollywood, where in 1955 she signed a contract with Columbia pictures. Having changed her name to Victoria Shaw, she played opposite Tyrone Power in The Eddie Duchin Story (1956). Later the same year she married the American actor Roger Smith. Her subsequent films included Edge of Eternity (1959), I Aim at the Stars (1960) and Westworld (1973). She also made appearances in such TV shows as General Hospital , Ironside and Charlie’s Angels.
