Eric Bana
Eric Bana (b. 1968), actor, worked as a barman in Melbourne before making a successful transition to stand-up comedy in the early 90’s. In 1993 he joined the cast of the TV series Full Frontal, earning fame for his impressions of such local celebrities as Ray Martin. In 1997 Bana was given his own TV show – The Eric Bana Show Live – and made his film debut in The Castle. It was his role as Mark “Chopper” Read in Chopper (2000) – a piece of casting approved by Read himself – that established Bana as a leading movie actor. Moving to Hollywood , he appeared in Black Hawk Down (2001) and played the lead in The Hulk (2003). He was also in the Australian film The Nugget (2002), and voiced the character of Anchor in Finding Nemo (2003). In 2004 he starred with Brad Pitt and fellow Australian Rose Byrne in the Wolfgang Petersen epic Troy.
