War - Trapped In Memories

Mainly I got the idea for this artwork from
my family’s recollections and stories of living through
wars and how hard it was to leave the country, which is represented
with the barbed wire. The media lately has triggered my memories
of my childhood and the difficulties of living in a country
that was not always secure. I feel my self-portrait was an easy
way to express my feelings about what’s happening in the
world at the moment as well as my previous life experiences.
Putting all these things together gave this self-portrait.
