I have visually represented my self identity through two aspects, my nationality and gender. It is a portrait of my face, with a popular area from my home town in the background. I have depicted myself through my nationality because it is a big part of who I am. I chose to place the focal point (my face) on the right edge of the frame so that it would immediately capture the viewer’s attention. There is much more shadow detail in the face in order to make what I wanted to be visible to the viewer more prominent. The colours are monochromatic with tonal variations of the colour purple. I decided on purple as it evokes nostalgic feelings for my hometown. I also think that the colour was a good choice for a feminine design. |
